Hi All -

We just signed up for this forum, we have been lurking for a long while now! Lots of great info on RV.NET

Our son is graduating from the University of Memphis (YEA!!) in May and we are looking for a nearby park to stay in. His ceremony is near Beale ST at the FEDEX building so anywhere near or in between is what we are looking for. I have seen a few around the area online but some first hand advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks we have made the reservation, right on the water. Back up reservation at a KOA just in case water is high. We will be there May 9-12,I will check out the happenings, anything Ribs is up my alley!

You didn't say when graduation is. In the month of May Memphis has a different celebration going on. We went to the BBQ cookoff a couple of years ago and had a really fun time. Great town with plenty of things to do. Go on the net and research Memphis in May. Enjoy the graduation and enjoy the town and stop and check out the ducks at the Peabody hotel it pretty cool.

Tom Sawyer in in West Memphis, Ark. and is a beautiful place. Plenty of tug boat action on the river to watch. Only park I have stayed in that offers free laundry. Congrats to son and enjoy your stay.

staying with family in Athens, TN, Cullman AL, and back to Keaton Beach, FL. We are actually living out of Miami area, so we have to be back for work. Should be a whirlwind trip.

Is the Tom Sawyer RV park over the bridge in Arkansas? Want to make sure it is the right one?

BTW, you probably need to make reservations ASAP, they will probably have a good number of folks staying for the graduation. Tell them we sent you. There are other compgrounds south of town into Mississippi, but TS is the closest and we really like it.

Tom Sawyer in West Memphis is about the best, and the closest to the FEDEX area. It has lots of room if you need to have some folks over to celebrate or party. Congrats to him from all of us.
