mission at san juan capistrano

Question

in mid march we will be travelling from san diego to Anaheim.
if we wish to see the mission en route , where do we park our rig in san juan capistrano.
it is about 50 ft long.
we considered staying at san clemente state park but the site said only one site was available and had no info on it. looks like the site was down.

Parking around the mission is tight, you might want to leave the MH in one of the retail parking lots in the area and drive the toad to get closer.

Last time we went camping in San Clemente we spent a couple of hours in SJC. We pull a small trailer, but we had no trouble finding street parking about 1/4 of a mile away. If you look on a map - we got of on Junipero Serra road, turned left onto Capistrano Road and parked along there.  We were there during the week. Since you are coming from the south, you could get onto Capistrano road and head north past the mission.
