Natures Resort in Homasassa Springs

Has anyone spent any time at this Florida Gulf CG in the winter months? I've checked their web page and it looks good, but web pages can be deceiving. I would appreciate any personal insight of actual campers at this CG.

Thanks

Have stayed at Natures Resort in the past. Sites are tight and noseeums will eat you up unless it is really cold. We now stay at Rock Crusher Canyon in Crystal River every winter. Are here now. Check it out. Roomy state park like setting. Big park, friendly folks and in the same area of Nature Coast. We are 15 minutes from Natures Resort.

If not Nature's Resort, What RV park would you recommend?

Camped there in late January, 2009. The roads were paved, but the sites were not. My advice is try to avoid getting a site that is muddy. We were there after a big rain and the only sites open were too soft for my pickup - needed a neighbor with four-wheel drive to pull my F350 truck out of the mud.

I would stay there again since it's close to Homosassa Springs State Park.

I have camped at that CG several times in the past, but not since 2005. Not a 5-star type place, but not bad either.

I started camping there in the 70's. I was told back then that it started out as a nudist resort, but I am not sure if that was true.

The river is nice, and it is not a far boat ride up to see the Manatees at the SP. Some people will sell you smoked Mullet right out on the docks, so look for them if you do some boating. Campsites along the swampy area often have critters that come into your campsite looking for food. We enjoyed them, but some people do not.
