Need a RV place in East Bay, San Francisco

Where is a good, safe place to stay.
Will be driving down I 80.
Close to the Bay Bridge?
Or any other place?

My wife is driving into San Francisco down town one day.
Going to the Xmas Fair at the Cow Palace the next day.

Any other suggestions? A big thanks.... Steve.
We have a 24 foot class C.

PS...Isn't there a County Fair Ground RV parking somewhere?
  • A google map search of 'fairgrounds' in the east bay shows quite a few.
  • Two places I've stayed are the Fair Grounds in Pleasanton, and Tradewinds RV Park in Vallejo. There are other Fairgrounds in Contra Costa County, but I have not used them.

Alternate transportation from Pleasanton is BARTD. From Vallejo, the ferry.
  • We spent a couple nights at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds RV Park. Sort of a slum as an rv park, but if you are desperate it can work.
  • There is also San Francisco RV Resort in Pacifica...right on the ocean. Never stayed there, but we commented that it looked nice when we drove by last summer. Don't know anything else about it.
  • Thanks everyone.
All good leads and I am checking them out.
  • We have stayed at the Pleasanton FG and found it to be fine. We like better, the Greenbrea RV Park in Marin. Can catch the ferry to SF or drive (20 Minutes to Fishermans warf) Nice, clean CG. Daughter lives in Orinda and we would not stay at Tradewinds... Too tight, not a particularly good area in our opinion.

Marin CG has lots of shopping, resturants just 5 minutes away if you don't want to go to the city.. Have been staying there 2-3 times a year for close to 10 years.
  • Thanks. I think we are going to try it out and stay as you recommended in Marin.

    Anybody else have any suggestions?
  • There are a couple of places in Napa.
Napa Valley Expo and Skyline Park.
  • We looked at many of the CGs mentioned here when we were there in 2012. None of them worked for us. The KOA in Petaluma was by far our best stop in the SF area.
  • Thanks every one.
    Thanks to Travier !!
We ended up staying at the Marin RV Park in the North Bay.
    2140 Redwood Hwy., Greenbrae, CA
Spent 3 nites here. Not a super great park, but OK.
Clean and well maintained. Fairly open spots between RVs.
    But....GREAT LOCATION.
10 minute walk to Larkspur Ferry. $5 senior rate boat ride to SF wharf, was lots of fun.
Walk to shopping, eating, etc from campground.
    $64 a nite w/ good sam.
Nice lady at front desk for 21 years.
Highly recommend you try it out at least once.
    Great way to explore SF.
    Drive to Napa, etc.
    Costco close by.
Walk to Trader Joes. Two buck Chuck... :D
    10 miles to Golden Gate.
