Need stop from NH to Sevierville, TN

The first week of August we'll be traveling from Portsmouth, NH to the KOA in Sevierville, TN with 3 of our Grandkids. We'll be going down 81 and stopping overnight half way. We had planned to stop at Yogi Bears in Hagerstown. But we stopped there on our way north and the line in April to check in was way too long so looking for alternatives.

I would consider a CG close to 81 without hookups, but we have a 45' MH and are towing a truck. Would also consider Walmart's, rest areas or anywhere safe. We are self contained. Boondocking is fun.

Any thoughts??

We had an unbelievably fantastic time at Bryce, and the campground is new and clean, but its proximity to the road will make me think twice about staying there again. I may or may not. We were in a spot closest to the road (site B1), so maybe it's better at the other end of the CG (by the pool). If it's a close-to-the-Highway, over-nighter with amenities and pull-thru you're looking for, it'll probably suit you, if you can handle the road noise. I thought I wouldn't mind, but it turns out I find it difficult to ignore. The roof air helps, and you'll need AC because all the trees are too small to offer a lick of shade, but the trucks sure seemed loud at 7:00 on a Sunday morning and didn't provide the best soundtrack for gazing at a moon-lit night, either.
The staff is friendly. wifi worked our first night, but apparently, a storm knocked out their router our second night, resulting in a campground-wide outage. The small-ish pool was very clean and there is a playground for about 3-10 year olds. They have horseshoes and cornhole boards. Shenandoah Caverns (iirc) is right around the corner from the CG.
I wish I had an alternative to offer. Have a safe and memorable trip.

Looks really nice, but would like to make it further first day. We have reservations in Sevierville which means I'd like to keep it to 2 days down. Thanks for the recommendation though. If we get off very late may have to use it.

Check out Twin Grove Resort & CG near Pine Grove, PA. Immaculately clean, lots of sites large enough for your rig. Two pools - one with a waterside, game room, ice cream bar and a mini-amusement park. This would be a perfect place if you want to break up your trip with a day off the road. Also restaurant on the premises, and the food is excellent. If you go you can get off at the Rt. 443 interchange and head west to the CG; on leaving continue west on 443 then hook up with Rt. 72 heading south which will get you back on I-81. Nice drive. Enjoy & safe travels.

This could be a good stop if we get started a little later. It would be a little less then half way to Sevierville.
