Never again

I guess I am lucky that I am working 2/3 of the weekend.

That's why I sat home this weekend. I knew that the camp grounds would all be full and chaotic. Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends are the worst. Probably best to either stay home, boon-dock somewhere or find an out of the way place to camp.

How about a nicely word to the management of the campground, a posting on RVParkReviews.com and such. Not enough people are going to see your post to make the campground change.

If the campground is publicly owned then I would think start enforcing the rules and add more to make things safer and quieter. I've called the ranger and he calls the sheriff; people are gone within an hour.

WE also went camping. And yes you could tell everyone there wasn't a professional camper. Some had problems backing in, MANY had dogs they did not follow all the rules with, like leashing, and such, not too many barkers though. And there was lots of kids running, playing and bikes, and games playng, lots of campfires, and loud laughter, and sitck biscuits cooked, golf carts rolling here, and there, a pile of grills smoking up the CG. People laying in hammocks, and such.

Just the kind of things that should be going on at a family friendly campground. We just had the best time.

We'll leave the middle of the week to the professional RVers

BTW. We were at Orchard Lake. A great place to play.

My wife posted a review to RVParkReviews.com. I doubt they will change anyway. All about the money.

It amazes me the amount of people who are surprised at the extra traffic, both foot and vehicle, in public and private grounds on a holiday weekend. Now don't get me wrong, I don't agree with the lack of manors most have these days, but I'm not shocked. My only word of advice I have for you, is stay at home, or camp off grid during what some would call a camping holiday. This may seem like you are being made to change to suit their rudeness, but you'll will never change the masses, and it is better for your mental well being.

We weren't surprised at the amount of traffic. We knew it would be busy.I guess we just expected the campgound to enforce their rules a bit more. I guess it's too much to expect people to be considerate of their fellow campers. We won't be camping on a "camping holiday" again.

It's the nature of the beast, people come up with the idea of camping to have some fun on the holiday and they are by no means seasoned campers that know the sometimes unwritten CG courtesies. ALBEIT most of the time the holiday weekends are full of the new "it's all about me generation", that doesn't even know how to spell courtesy.

I got to see just this after going full time. I had pulled in to CG on my way south and decided to stay for a couple of weeks so I was not driving on the road during the holidays.

It's like a slow motion movie unfolding before your eyes.

For days the CG goes about functioning as normal and campers are happy and going about their days walking around and talking and having quiet campfire dinners.... and THEN the weekend comes and you watch as 'they' pull in one by one, set ups are chaotic, the drinking starts before the levelers are down, and then the noise, the noise and craziness escalate into the night and repeats itself for four more days.

Then...they leave one by one and the CG returns to normal.:C

Sorry the OP had to endure a CG gone wild on the precious days they had to enjoy a family get together.

I call these amateur weekends.

There are plenty of CGs to choose from. Find one with more space between sites. Already have my Labor Day reservation done for a small, family run CG with large sites.
