New Orleans Area
We want to stay about four nights in New Orleans. We plan to make a day trip to Biloxi but spend most of out time in New Orleans. Can anyone suggest a nice RV park in the area. Thanks, Wes

It really depends how much money and how conveniently located you want to be. The state park is the most cost effective but on the other side of the river from the French Quarter and only about $25 per night. The French Quarter RV Park is just a couple of blocks walk to the French Quarter but costs about $100 a night.

We stopped at Ponchatrain Landing last year and found the place to be extremely dusty. Interior roads were a mess with potholes and when an RV or car went by or the wind blew, the dust covered everything. I suppose if it had rained, it would have been all mud.

Bayou Signette State park is very nice. No sewer but they have a dump station and free laundry. It is about a 15 minute drive to the Algiers Ferry and the ferry drop right off in the French Quarter. There is a small fee for the ferry and a parking fee. The campground staff is very helpful and even gave us a print out on where to find the post office, Wal-Mart, etc. It is an urban campground but the price is outstanding. The campground was completely redone after Katrina.
