- mgirardoExplorerI think anything over 80 is just gross. Fifty five (55) to 80 is my sweet spot. Anything below 55 is too chilly anything above 80 is too warm. We live in southeast GA, 15 minutes from the Atlantic. We swim Fall, Winter and Spring. The wife and kids will swim in the summer, I do not. The nice thing about the beach that time of year, no one is there except the occasional walker.

We had a really pleasant week in the Keys December last year. I don't know how that translates to February, but we were able to swim each day.
We were in JPSP late Dec last year and hardly anyone was in the water due to a cold front. The next week we were in BHSP and it was much nicer and we were swimming. Keep in mind I am from NC coast and prefer 80 degree or better water to swim in. I see people from up North swimming here in May and enjoying it. Just depends on what you like or are used to I guess. I think water temp was in 72-74 range when we were in the Keys in Dec. last year. That is not bad to me if the sun is out and not a lot of wind. The first time we went to BHSP was in late March / early April and it was perfect for me, like bath water. - ependydadExplorer

We are heading to Belize, so we are pretty much guaranteed to have some warm water!!!
I hope you are right. GF and I went 3 years ago in Jan / Feb and a cool front came through. Was rainy, cloudy, and cool the whole week. Mind you the water was warm but it was not pleasant getting in /out. Once we got a little north in Mexico ( Tulum )and away from the front it was perfect. Other years I have been to Belize in Jan / Feb have been great. Same can happen in Florida keys.
Good luck I hope you hit it right!!
Yeah they actually had a freeze in the Keys 3 or 4 years ago. - riven1950Explorer

As Terryallen mentioned, the oceanfront parks in MB have heated pool. We were at Ocean Lakes at the end of January and was able to score a sit that was ocean front. There were actually plenty of sites ocean front available.

Our site - bamcoteExplorerWe were in the Ft Pierce/Vero Beach area in Jan-Feb and although we did not swim, found the water warm enough if you wanted to swim. Also consider that we were from Maine where the ocean water at its highest usually only gets around 68 degrees.

That's what I was thinking myself but thought I should ask anyway! I would be just as happy just sitting by the ocean and hearing the waves crash to shore! I think for my husbands warm water request we're just going to have to wait for warmer weather! :)

- Dutch_12078Explorer IIGoing by the averages listed on this site, The beaches from about Miami south are likely to be the most suited to comfortable swimming in February.
