- OakmanExplorerI always visit Old Faithful when I go to Yellowstone. My favorite place to view an eruption is on the 2nd floor veranda at the Old Faithful Inn with an adult beverage in my hand. My second favorite place to view the eruption is Observation Point. This view is 250 feet above Old Faithful and the panoramic view is spectacular too.
Old Faithful from Observation Point. - UppercrustExplorerBeen there twice once in the summer and once in the winter. We did a 4 day snowmobile through Yellowstone and would love to do it again. Awesome place
- bee_46ExplorerWe have been to Yellowstone three times, 1970, 1989 and this summer. I always marvel at the power of nature and how predictable, if now always punctual, Old Faithful is.
- noe-placeExplorerOnly because the roads will be blocked by snow soon.
- Crowd has thinned out quite a bit since July.
- noe-placeExplorerWe've also been a number of times and I'd come back in a heartbeat. No special reason other than we love the place.
- CroweExplorerBeen there 3 times-two driving, one flying. Still plan on going back again.
- Duke-44ExplorerWe go back often, but we only live 100 miles from the south entrance.
- AlabamaTravelerExplorerWe were there in 1997. We stayed at the Inn and our window faced directly toward Old Faithful. I remember waking up at 3am and looking out. There was a full moon and Old Faithful was erupting at that exact moment. No one was out and I just stood there taking it in. This was a beautiful moment.
- Opie431ExplorerWe did go back and did many of the things we had done the first time. Could go back again.
If you wake up early you can get pictures at Old Faithful and have no one in the background. Beautiful.
