Overnight at New Jersey turnpike rest area

Has anybody stayed overnight at Molly Pitcher rest area on Nj tpk.? Any advice. Never done this before. Thanks McD
  • I can't swear to it but something tells me I have seen some hourly parking limit at rest areas on New Jersey Turnpike. I can say that many of my long-haul truck driving friends spend the night regularly and no one bothers them. Keep in mind many of the rest areas are absolutely full of tractor-trailers at night. Many of them are idling continuously, and many are parked along the entrances and exits of the rest area due to overcrowding.
  • Lived in NJ for 20+ years, never saw a "No Overnight Parking" sign at any NJ Turnpike or Garden State Parkway rest stop. I haven't been to every one, but I have been to most.

Well usually there are posted time limits that you are allowed to stay likely around 8 hours.
  • 2 RETIRED.....the 18 wheelers park all nite in the Molly Pitcher rest stop as they do in most other turnpike places. I've never parked all nite in one of these, But I have for, say a 2-3 hour nap......never a problem.
  • Lived in NJ for a very long time. Don't think overnighting in rest areas is allowed. Know there is no security available.
