- TomG2ExplorerThe "Doctors" may have drawn a crowd, but there were few people at "The River" yesterday.
- pawattExplorerWe were at "The River" today. The Palapa is rebuilt on the slab of the old one. The swimming pool and 2 hot tubs are nearly done. Another building is being built. There is no kitchen but Aces BBQ had a food truck on site. There was a good crowd. About 90% full. Great rock n roll music by the Renisance Rockers. Beer $3.00. Margaritas $5.00. They are only open Sundays for now.
- TomG2ExplorerWent there a lot before the flood. Not the same and probably won't be. Rumor has it that there will be other buildings in the area, but I have no reason why.
- pawattExplorerThanks Tom, Pepe's used to be so fun. Ever go there when the Elvis impersonator was there. He was better than the real Elvis I think.
- TomG2ExplorerI can now report back on "The River" (formerly known as "Pepe's). Apparently, and without much success, they must be courting a younger crowd. Music was loud country/rock from the nineties. I don't think any of the band ever heard of Merle, Hank, or Lefty. Food was provided from a caterer's truck. Beer was $3.00/bottle. Not much of a crowd and the tables and chairs were pretty dusty. In other words, all of the worst of the old Pepe's with none of the "Cool" that we hoped for. Riverside was much better and many folks showed up there after trying "The River".
- TomG2ExplorerThe report from the Single's group that went there was that it was pretty dirty from the wind and dust. "The Doctors" were there two weeks ago to a pretty good crowd. There is another building under construction that looks like it might be a restaurant. It is going to take some doing to get the crowd back from "Riverside".
