Pollen and allergies and where to go for winter

We have vaccinations for those. Valley fever does not. Just chose not to be the what ever percent of pets that do die from it. And the numbers are high, most pets that die go undiagnosed coupled with no reporting of it required. Just what "I' based my decision on.

Really! Millions of people and pets live in the west and don't die from Valley Fever or even contract it. What about the midwest and south and West Nile or Lyme Disease? Personally, we don't worry about every thing out there. That would be horrible. You just need to use common sense.

Valley Fever IS the reason I chose not to live in the west. Especially if you have pets that you don't want to die.

....I hate to tell you: this means NOTHING for your specific situation. No 2 people on Earth have the same allergies. There are hundreds (or, thousands) of airborne allergens in any given place on Earth. One person could be allergic to 3 allergens at Location X, and move to Location Y with few if any issues. Then, another person living in the same environment can have similar (but not the same) allergens, and moves to the same Location Y, and can have/will/may develop allergies to allergens there, too. There aren't ANY guarantees!

I read an exhaustive epidemiological paper done on allergies (airborne) in Mexico and the American Southwest, and unfortunately, allergies are increasing at an alarming rate both in Mexico and the Southwest US. As environments change radically (much hotter and longer and windier winter seasons in the Southwest and Mexico, as an example), allergens will change, increase, decrease, extending, shortening by today's unpredictable season.

If you do manage to find an "ideal locale during a particular season", count yourself lucky; however(!), don't be surprised if new or even traditional allergens (extending seasons) rear their ugly heads over time!

What is desert fever? Of you mean valley fever, it is caught by the respiratory system in areas where spores are, ie, construction, digging, etc. not a lot of that going on in Az right now. Still a ton of empty houses and buildings. Anywhere around Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, Sun City, Suprise, Glendale is horrific for allergies. Maybe like others suggested, Casa Grande, Cottonwood, Florence, East Mesa, Apache Junction. But stay away from the big city areas. We were in Kingman 2 weekends ago, and it is the first time I have had relief from allergies in months.

Wherever you have growing things and blooming things you 'might' get allergies. We winter in Arizona and are usually not bothered but every once in while there's something bloomin' out there and we'll get a mild case. The next year could be nothing. Good luck finding that unique place!

Someplace where nothing at all grows...the Polar Ice Caps come to mind. But it's mighty cold there, or so I hear.
