Port Aransas Texas

We are looking for a good campground in Port Aransas for Sand Fest. I had narrowed it down to Pioneer Resort until I read that they do not allow golf cart rentals. We will have my 82 year old father with us. I wanted to rent a golf cart for the weekend so we can drive him up and down the beach to see all the sand sculptors. Pioneer's no golf cart rentals blows that. Does anyone who has camped in Port Aransas have a suggestion for another campground that would meet our needs? No, I am not interested in the state park this time.

Yes, she doesn't have problems because she owns a golf cart. For some weird reason Pioneer will not allow people to use rental golf carts. Campers have to own a golf cart. I don't understand why they have a problem with rental golf carts. There are several companies that will rent to campers, but it wont help us if Pioneer will not let you have them on the campground. I just don't get it! :h

  • I don't know. I believe she owned hers as I remember she'd done some remodeling with the windshield That was the only golf cart in the park that I can remember. But it is sort of out of town too. She took me into town once and used a side road. Sorry...not sure. Why wouldn't they allow rentals I wonder? That's strange.

I stayed at "On the Beach". Nice people, right behind the dunes. Only drawback was that it was rough on the rig. Cover your wheels and anything you don't want to rust with "Corrosion X" as soon as you can. I was there 2 months in the winter. My neighbor had a golf cart.

Do you know if your neighbor's golf cart was his or a rental? I'm finding that some places will only allow golf carts if you own them, not rentals. That was the problem with Pioneer.
