if you plan on staying at any state parks, you better make reservations months in advance, especially in California.

and any coastal campgrounds will be booked at least 6 months in advance.

if you only want private RV parks, you'll have an easier time but anything on the coast should be reserved.

Oceanside Beachfront RV Resort is a great park great ocean access and a great base camp in Oregon.

Oregon - Collier Memorial State Park just north of Klamath Falls and south of Crater Lake (town of Chiloquin). Still one of my favorite CG's.

California - lots of CG's in Red Bluff. We used Red Bluff RV Park. Not fancy but clean and had amenities.

Washington - Hell's Canyon RV Park & Marina (Clarkston, on border with ID). Has the most fancy stuff of the three on this list.

We are not big fans of FHU parks except for an overnight when on the road, but I have seen one in Oregon that would be great for a long-term stay -- Belknap Hot Springs in McKenzie Bridge. Beautiful river, lots to do in the area, very nice facilities.

It would help by knowing what you're looking for in a park. For instance I view my 33' Class A as a base camp and do my area exploring in my Dodge Caravan (just got back from a 4-day SW NM exploration in my Caravan boondocking in the national forests). I tend to look for inexpensive campgrounds for my Class A and avoid "resorts" (though I have stayed in one or two when the price was right). As long as I'm posting this, a small older campground in Chiloquin OR (30 miles east of Crater Lake) was beautiful. Not fancy but lots of space between camp sites in a forested location. Nearby Chiloquin had most necessities you might need during your stay. Nearby Crater Lake, Train Mountain and Collier Park Logging Museum are must see area destinations. Expect some great area fly-fishing as well.

If you're a full-timer you need to join the Escapees RV Club - $40. One of their perks is staying in their parks. They have two in California, one in Oregon and one in Washington. Problem solved. You'll be surrounded by full-timers.

Wow, that is about a million miles of roads, so you might want to narrow it down some. I would figure out my itinerary and then check RV Park Reviews and see what they say. What areas are you going to visit, what do you want to see, and do Generally I know that most State Parks in those states are wonderful, but you'll need reservations.

There are two decent parks on the east side of Portland. Portland Troitdale and Sandy riverfront. Both offer monthly site rentals.
