Report: No Meteors/Lots of Snow in Eastern Sierra

Jefe, I think we might have camped in a different secret spot, not in yours. Same general area, but our campsite was completely out in the open -- no trees within 400 yards -- because we wanted to see the meteors (which did not show up). Ordinarily, we camp in the shadiest places we can find.

Sorry about the Meteor Shower. I was sitting out under the stars, waiting for a show too. But, you certainly scored on a great trip, just the same.

Seeing others enjoying their RVs, no matter what the weather and seasons bring, should be motivation for more to try it. Thanks for sharing your trip, with such great photos and narrative. I particularly loved seeing the snow, after a very dry and warm spring.

The wildflower you photographed was not Phlox but actually a very common spring wildflower, found in the Sierras. It is commonly known as; Jesscia Stickweed ~ (Hackelia micrathia)

Calisdad, we did pass by Dynamo Pond, but since this was Memorial Day weekend, there were large numbers of campers there -- we like to be completely alone! We live in a congested urban/suburban area near LA, so silence and peace are priceless.

And gbopp, it never got below 25 degrees, and that was only in the night -- otherwise it was in the 30s in the morning, rising to about 50 in the afternoon. That's not too cold -- a jacket and a hat and gloves, and we were very comfortable.

Your TR gets the usual "Wow!" and lets me see one of my favorite parts of the world in a different season. You even showed a couple of hikes that I have actually done. Thanks for sharing.
