We have been to every state in the U.S. (except Alaska and Rhode Island)

We will have to opportunity this fall to visit R.I. but I am not finding anywhere to camp/park and stay for a couple days...

Any Suggestions?

Thanks for your time.

Head over the bridges to Newport. Take mansion tours, walk the sea wall, visit downtown shops and attractions.

Thanks I have signed up to get the Rhode Island tourist booklet

At that time I would think Fisherman's Memorial may be available. We wanted to stay there last week - no luck. Same with Charlestown Breachway unless you were willing to go without hookups.

We used Ft. Getty Park in Jamestown. Water & electric only and no amenities. Sites are grass; 25' wide by 60' or so deep. Just be sure to have good long power cord &/or water hose. The CG sites atop a small peninsula at the mouth of the bay. Nice views, nice breeze, quiet place. If you think you're going to wind up there, call first since they have only a dozen or so sites for transients, and if you're looking for sandy beaches you won't find any here.

I agree, check Fishermens State Park at RV Park Reviews, they just did a large upgrade late last year, redoing sites over with upgraded hookups...should even be better! :C

K Charles...... Don't matter.... We are going to Farmington Ct. after R.I. to visit long lost cousin. Do you have any ideas for around there?

Check RVParky.com. There are several in the area.

You could try the Charlestown Breachway or East beach if you just want to park by the water.

Are you looking for State or private? Do you want ocean or woods?

Fishermans Memorial is a nice place but not on the shore. The camp ground is maybe a mile away from the memorial which is on the shore.
If the kids are out of school reservations are a must. We go there in Sep almost every year.

Fisherman's is where I stay too. It does get booked early, depending on what "fall" means in this instance. Loops 1 and 2 have full hookups, 4 has W&E only. 1 or 4 would be my preference.
