RV Park/Campground Suggestions South of Seattle, WA

Hello, all. We are making a trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon in August (thanks to everyone for the great suggestions on that location), and we are thinking of breaking the trip up into 2 days to make life easier for our 3 year old (and us!). Anyway, we are thinking it would be good for us on day one to do some shopping in Burlington and then possibly travel through Seattle to get on the South side of the city.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good campground in this area to stay at for a day or two? We could go further South to get through Tacoma as well if necessary. Full hookups not a necessity but a definite nice to have. We have a 30' fifth wheel.

Thanks to everyone.
  • There are not very many campgrounds right around Seattle. The closest is a KOA in Kent, just south of Seattle and just off of I-5. Dash Point in Tacoma will probably be booked up.

We've stayed at American Heritage Campground down by Olympia several times. They have two sites and may have some openings this time of the year. It is just off of I-5.
  • South Seattle suggestions:
Saltwater State Park near Des Moines is our favorite.
Dash Point State Park is good option.
Kent KOA is pricey but will work.

A little further south is Tacoma and we stayed at a Gig Harbor campground that worked well. There are also some state parks near Tacoma.
