We just recently got the chance to store our rv at our favorite campground in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We have been trying for almost a year to get in the storage lot. It is under 50 bucks a month and when we want to go camping all we have to do is call ahead and they will pull the rv on to the lot and level it for you. This is great for us in the fact that we will be freeing up our driveway and saving a lot on diesel fuel. Just load up our clothes and drive the car to the campground. I was wondering if anyone else on here does this with their rv's.

My sister essentially does that. Their tow vehicle is less than adequate for the trailer that they have, so they keep it at the storage lot at the campground. Their TV is good enough to get it from the lot to their favorite site and back, so that's what they do. They had a great season of about 40-50 nights camping this summer.

We do that some at our favorite campground (coincidentally, in Pigeon Forge too). We do it if we know we are going to be at the campground several weekends in a row or something. They basically let us leave it set up on our spot and plugged in. Pay a small daily fee to keep fridge running and we are golden. Saves around 15 gallons of gas, give or take.We are a lot closer than you, though. We're only 75 miles away from PF.In fact, it's up there right now and will be through Thanksgiving.

We have a great RV storage arrangement at our park. For just $25.00per month we leave our fifth wheel at our site and the grea managers at the park check it from time to time during the summer. So all we have to do is load up our toys and other stuff and head to AZ for the winter. BTW rent is only $190 per month during the winter!

We do that at Pismo Coast Village in California. We call it our very small and inexpensive cottage by the sea.

At Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach, they have trucks outrigged specifically to tow TT's and 5ers. And they do a great job. Lakewood does to. We have had ours stored at both places.

As far as forklifts, that's how they move them around at RV dealerships.

One MAJOR thing that would bother me about this is I've watched campground move customer trls to and from storage lots and they use any old thing to tow with, and more or less just yank the trls around. Not saying all do this but I've seen it enough in enough different campgrounds to know it's not something I'd do if I had a TT and especially not if I had a 5th wheel, seen 5th wheels tow by a fork lift tractor with a hitch just shoved on the forks????

We kept it ours at the campground in storage and pull it out every weekend until they raised the rate so we now store it a half mile down the road in an RV/Boat storage lot across from another campground. Electronic gate access with your own card, barbed wire and lit and secure at night and a designated spot for $27/month, for us it works.

We are currently doing it in Myrtle Beach just make sure no food is left in it....for the rodents or ants.....Some friends had an ant issue..... We are bringing it home for the winter other than that we have left the golf car in it..... But we or our kids have used it once a month

If it's an option for you, I would utilize a utility trailer. We did the golf cart in the back of the truck when we had it, but when we got rid of the truck and got my wife her explorer, I went to lowes and bought a utility trailer. A lot easier to load and unload. And a lot safer also.

Thanks everyone for the replies. We will be taking ours to the campground this Saturday. I believe that this will make our camping trips a whole lot easier. We have a golf cart that stays in the hauler but I am going to take it out and keep it at the house for the winter to keep the batteries charged up. First trip in the spring we will take it down and leave it for the entire summer. I purchased some real nice Longs 11' Golf cart ramps which makes loading a breeze in to the truck.
