The ghost of ole Douglas Moore still hangs out at the Emily Morgan Hotel

Try a steak at Bohanan's

oh, and the Market Square (El Mercado); eat at Mi Tierra and La Margarita ... then walk it off at the indoor market place. TAKE CASH and barter. Very nice market/items

I'll be there in February and the best location I have found is Travelers World Carefree RV Resort. I haven't been there, but the reviews are good and the location is excellent. Mfar1234 provides an excellent list of "to-dos."

X2 for Travelers World, stayed there in October. However better check seems like they might be booked. Spotless grounds, great staff, small pool and hot tub. There is a public bus going into San Antonio that stops across the street plus they are near the bicycle path.

X3 for Travelers World. Great place and well located for downtown.

We stayed at Blazing Star. It was very nice but we didn't use the laundry so I don't know about that. It was also close to restaurants, grocery store and a movie theater. Also Close to sea world but a short drive into town for the Alamo and River Walk. We walked to the Buckhorn Museum a couple of blocks from the Alamo. My dh and ds loved that. Hope you have a great time. We went last year over Thanksgiving. Going to the Gulf this year!

If you want a country atmosphere ck out Hidden Valley RV Park (Von Ormy)on the SW of San Antonio. Small laundry, fishing creek, full hook up sites, small clubhouse. About 15 minutes to downtown. No fancy amenities but they do have wifi.

I would also recommend Travelers World especially if you can get a pull thru. Plenty of room and good space between sites. But lots of snowbirds stay there. May be a problem getting sites.
Very easy access to downtown, Alamo, Riverwalk, El Mercado (Market Square), Buckhorn Museum, etc. Bus stop right out front if you prefer not to drive downtown. But the street right in front goes straight downtown and we found easy parking right at the Riverwalk.
If you are arriving on I-37, do not take the East Southcross Blvd route to get there. Steep railroad crossing to go over. Use Military Drive to Roosevelt Ave instead.
