Shaw changes

We were having trouble with our Shaw Direst in the stick house in Canada. Cold not get HD channels. Tech came out and they had to change something in our subscriptions. Seems that because we had a second system in Mexico they stopped the HD. I had to tell them I did not want the foreign dish active and everything was good. The tech had been to a seminar the previous month and Shaw told them that very soon none of the systems will work SOB. I know this has been discussed here before but I a am assuming they will finally move everything over to that new satellite with the Canadian footprint. The tech was also told that the CRTC had something to do with the changes. Looks like all Snowbirds will have to use Dish or Direct. I suppose if you have an internet provider with a fast service you could stream some shows ( not CG WiFi!)

The CRTC has no jurisdiction SOB.AFAIK Shaw is making no changes at this time that will affect reception in the "Southern Provinces".Yes, I have Shaw Direct.You probably had an incompatibility in LNBs. The old LNB can't get all three sats.

I can confirm that the CRTC has nothing to do with Bell or Shaw and their changes as I asked the CRTC and got a response that they didn't influence Bell or Shaw, it's actually the US networks unhappy about re-broadcasting their programs (without US advertising) into the US.

I also suspect an LNB incompatibility, a couple of years ago I had the old (2 satellite) LNB on the RV and the new LNB at home (which required the receiver to be re-programmed). When I moved the receiver to the RV it wouldn't work, and that was in Canada! Mix and match problem.
