So we have sold the house, I am due for neck surgery the end of September beginning of October. We were trying to find a RV park close to the hospital, doctors. I have stayed at this park quite a while ago with the 02 5ver and my only complaint was the noise at night from the apartments on the other side of the block wall. I told the wife where we do not want to be parked at this facility. We go to the office to see about reservations as the Doc say's I will have a 3 Month recovery. Length of stay would probably be from mid September to maybe May. The first words from the persons mouth "What year is your RV". I tell her it is a 2002. the next statement " it's to old, we only take 10 years and under". I was kind of shocked as I have heard of this but never had it actually happen. Then I find out almost anything goes during the summer but when it is snow bird season it is 10 years or less. There is nothing in their literature that states any of this so it is a heads up on this park. My 02 looks better than new by the way as it is very well kept.

Rules are a result of folks taking advantage, being jerks or out and out lying.

Friend built a 50 site FHU RV park from ground up and opened for business in 2008.
At the time he had just a few written rules......normal common sense things.

I asked him if he thought they were sufficient. "Folks KNOW what is right/wrong"

2 yrs later the RULES were 2 pages......spelling out each and every thing.

I asked him what happened. "Folks seem to NEED it spelled out"

Yes he has a 10 yr rule.
That way HE can decide whether to allow them to stay or not.

Just like other businesses have set rules.
"No short --- no service"
"Reserve the right to refuse service"
"No Refunds"

Not a really a snub......just a rule to help protect RV Park Owner's Investment
Is it time for your medication or mine?

The 10 yr. rule is not universal and tends to be applied in the high end dollar resorts. My experience is that RV's 10 years or older are subject to an inspection by the park staff. If the RV is in good general overall condition, the 10 yr. rule is waved. The rule is intended to keep only RV's that are in good condition.

I've run in to this, but back then our TT was only 9 years old. While I understand - to a point - the intent of the CG owners, DW & I somehow didn't become different people when our trailer turned 11. Plenty of places to camp without having to put up with such nonsense.

I guess that place doesn't need your business. Or mine.

We have stayed there a couple of nights for the past two years and never heard of the 10 year rule. The park isn't nothing to write home about but it is convenient. Wish they'd get rid of those two palm trees that always seem to be in the way.

Never ran into it but mine will always be 9 years old!

Yes, I do feel it's ok to lie about small things like this. My 07 TT looks better than some 2014 models!

Fudge on the age. I'll bet there isn't a desk clerk in any campground that could tell an '02 from a '16 fiver.

If I had been in the office, I'd have said "show me"
