- azrvingExplorerGood find but I would add that an occasional cold snap is not the only downside to the gulf coast. Noseeums are a major issue in some areas. They are horrendous at times on Sanibel, Cape Coral, Matlacha and Pine Island. I have also experienced them on Black Water bay near Pensacola and at Buccaneer state park in Mississippi.
Just so people know before booking for longer terms. They are sometimes not as bad in the deepest part of winter but it depends on the area and the year. - Dick_BExplorerbut you don't have to shovel noseeums!
- HarvardExplorerand you noseeum in AZ...:)
- Dog_FolksExplorerInteresting, as it is estimated that there are a million full timers.
That would mean every one of them run for the sun!
No wonder the traffic is so heavy southbound. - John_JoeyExplorerVery unscientific survey on my part, but I would guess there is 50 to 100 to one when it comes to snowbirds vs FT'ers. At least that is what it feels like at the snowbird parks.
What would your take on it be DogFolks, given the winter parks you've been in? Or do you think it's a million each, and they are not double counting. Even then it would be 1 for 1 which simply can not be. - Dog_FolksExplorer

That is something that is wide open for opinions. As been discussed many times here, there is no widely accepted term for "Full timers," or "Snowbirds."
If we as RVers cannot define it, then we can not begin to count. - Francesca_KnowlExplorerNot all fulltimers are snowbirds; nor is every snowbird a fulltimer. Some folks are one or t'other, some folks are both. The rest of us are neither.
Guess that about wraps it up.... - Dog_FolksExplorer
