Padre Island can be VERY windy.

I'd recommend the Rockport/Aransas Pass/Port Aransas area

If you have dogs the KOA used to have a problem with goats head and sand burrs, all problems for a dogs paws. Don't know if that problem still exists, did 3 or 4 years ago.

Yes, checkout the Rockport, Port Aransas area! We winter there for 5 years and loved it so much we moved to Rockport. However, you must hurry as area has become popular with the winter texans and most RV parks are reserved. Great fishing, Beaches, Bays, Kayaking, good seafood, and very reasonable.
