South Texas.

The DW and I are looking to spend about 6 weeks in south Texas this winter. Looking between Jan 1st and middle of February. Like to have something close to the ocean. Like to hear from anyone that has been there and done that. Thanks!
  • Look at South Padre Island...Isla Blanca is where we have stayed a couple of times......
  • Padre Island can be VERY windy.

    I'd recommend the Rockport/Aransas Pass/Port Aransas area
  • If you have dogs the KOA used to have a problem with goats head and sand burrs, all problems for a dogs paws. Don't know if that problem still exists, did 3 or 4 years ago.
  • Thanks bowman. No pets here. More of a powder guy myself!
  • Yes, checkout the Rockport, Port Aransas area! We winter there for 5 years and loved it so much we moved to Rockport. However, you must hurry as area has become popular with the winter texans and most RV parks are reserved. Great fishing, Beaches, Bays, Kayaking, good seafood, and very reasonable. PM us if have specific ?'s.
