I'm replying specifically to the security question of your post. We stayed there recently (past six months) and we probably won't stay there again. Our car was broken into. The problem with the park is that people using the boat ramp or other beach facilities have access to the campground area. So to answer your question. Lock everything up in your car and your camper. I like the campground for the summer months because of the jetty. But we won't stay there again because of the campground security issue. Next time we'll stay somewhere else and just spend the day at the jetty.
Your car was broken into, but yet you are saying to lock your stuff up in your car? lol
We stayed there almost 13 years ago. It was fine then. No issues of anything you mentioned. Of course things can change. Every Florida State Park (or any state park no matter where) we've ever been to, allow day use. Once you are in the gate, there is no other barrier to keep you out of the campground. At least of all the parks we've been to. I do think Curry Hammock does have a seperate coded security gate. But it's not gonna stop people from walking in.
You misunderstood what I wrote. I was not saying to lock everything that you have in your car. I was saying anything that is in your car or camper to keep it locked at all times. GMAB - A
