Dude(ette?), I WISH! We are dreaming of a year-long trek around the country in a year or two. Lots of logistics to figure out (me working fulltime, renting the house, homeschooling the daughter for a year, etc., etc., etc.). It gets overwhelming to think about.

Thank you everyone for the helpful info, I am going to try the zone pass this year, get two for the price of one, and see how it goes. My hope is at the larger parks there's the 'family zone' and some quieter areas as well. Our kids are grown and looking for something a little more laid back. I hope ;)...

There seems to be all kinds of rates and renewal rates out there.
I got a Thousand Trail Zone Pass when I bought a MH last year. I never used it until last month when we stayed four nights at a campground in Clermont, Fl. I had an option to renew for a year at $525, which really wasn't going to be worth it for me. A few weeks back I received a letter from TT offering another year for $199 or 2 years for $399. I renewed for 1 year since even if I only use it 3 or 4 nights during the year, it will have paid for itself.
I also wanted to keep myself eligible for what I assume will be relatively low renewal rates in a year and a half or so, when my wife retires, and the two of us will spend more time traveling.

We are members of TT for over 30 years and we spend the summers on the Oregon and Wash Coast at TT Parks. Only cost me $275 year for dues. Two weeks at one park then two weeks at another. I do not have to be out any days. I would highly try the Zone pass {two for one}TT sure works for us. We really like Pacific City TT Park, Seaside, South Jetty, La Conner is very high on our list

We have a really old Thousand Trails membership. We don't pay any dues. Zero dollars a year outgo. We've camped in TT parks from Washington State to Florida. We're getting ready to hit the road again this fall, and we will stay in TT parks, with a state or Federal park added here and there.

We can do three weeks in a park, and then go right to another TT park. For us, it's a really nice way to travel.

Most parks in the Northwest are nice, especially some of the Leisure Time Resort parks that TT bought. TT has been putting more money into the parks for upkeep and upgrades the past few years. Some parks are very good and some are okay.

We have a national membership and we have used ours a lot. To me it definitely pays for us to use it. I figure about 10 times a year and it paid for the year. I know that it would cost me more to stay in a public CG.

I think that in the parks we have used there are areas where there is quietness and areas where there are a lot of younger ones. We tend to find the areas where the not so young are at.

We have had only one electrical problem at any of the preserves we have stayed at. The people that we have met have mostly been friendly and helpful. A lot of times we get to see the same people over and over at different preserves. The staff have always been friendly.

Sometimes it is hard to get into some of the more popular preserves, but if you schedule far enough in advance you can get a site. If not some have overflow with no hookups which is OK with me. JMO

Not going to spend the absorbanent amounts for some of these.

GS's, PA and the Senior Pass are far less costly and give you more choices of places to stay.
