I swapped out my interior camper tank from a 30 gallon tank to a 40 gallon tank. I then put two extra tanks under my trailer with an additional pump. I have room for about 25 more gallons under the trailer, but a total of 80 gallons has worked well so far. The main thing is to understand that water is heavy at 8.33# per gallon and you need to keep the proper amount of tongue weight on a trailer and the mounts should be substantial.

A portable refill system is another option... battery, pump, hose and a portable tank make moving the trailer a non issue for a refill. Then you switch the moving of the trailer to when you need to dump your black and gray water tanks.

Move to Central California, somewhere between Porterville, Fresno, Merced, Sacramento, or Redding. ;)

There have been a few people who have swapped water tanks. Some actually have added additional tanks and an additional 12 volt pump to move water from the aux to the main one. Since you have easy access to your tank, you will have to note exactly where the inlets and outlets are, but it might be a fairly easy upgrade.

I guess the best mod I have for boondocking, or CGs where there is no table, is the grill holders. No crouching down cooking on the ground for me. My grill is a marine grill which I have made various mounting adapters for.

Most used is the clamp on the CG table seat block. Then there is the store bought mount in a corner of the basement sliding tray. Best one is the receiver hitch piece of wood with a hole in it for the grill to mount in.

The part of Oregon I like is about as far from Portland as it is from where we live in CA ... the part of Oregon included within the Oregon/California/Nevada corner.

There's even a town in that part of Oregon where we once wound up boondocking outside of - that we beforehand had asked an Oregon native where it was - and they had never heard of the town!

IMHO, that corner area is a great out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere remote area for RV boondocking at it's finest.

No Slide .
This is our 4th RV and we found that boondock camping in Oregon was our preferred outing.
It also has shock absorbers , a 6 inch tall frame and additional standard ground clearance without flipping the axles over the springs .
7280# max gvw rating on the axles but actually weighs about 5300 # on the axles most of the time .
I tow this with an hd2500 gmc diesel/allison 4wd slightly nose down .
we ford some VADOS ( gullies ) from time to time . Baja veteran .
