- LJAZExplorerSite kept giving me a timeout error, I guess it posted anyway. Moderators please delete.
- LJAZExplorerThere's also Karchner Caverns state park, it's closer to Tombstone than it is to Tucson, but it's a nice park. And the AZ state parks has a very nice website for making on line reservations.
Another thing to consider. Saguaro Nation Park has 2 parts, one on the east side of Tucson and one on the west side, so they are quite far apart. If you're headed to the west side one, it's worth checking out the Sonoran Desert Museum although you could easily spend the entire day there. - caysea7254Explorerok thanks. we tried to get into gilbert ray but only short sites left! So Will check out KOA for national park and Tombstone Territories. Also was checking in Benson a Rv park called Butterfield. Thanks everyone!!
- RugExplorer IIThe KOA is a very nice park. We have stayed here several times.
Be sure to visit the zoo.
For Tombstone we stay at Tombstone Territories. Nice Park a view of the mountains. Lots of things to do in the area. - Carl_n_SusanNomad II

Gilbert Ray, a county park, is in Saguaro NP and about and hour and a half from Tombsotne. They don't take reservations, have hooks ups in many of their sites and is huge. Also Old Tucson {the movie studio/old west town} is about 2 miles up the road A little touristy but still a hoot if you have never been.

Actually Gilbert Ray just started taking reservations for about 1/2 the park. It is a new app for them and to say it sucks is being generous. - Desert_CaptainExplorer IIIGilbert Ray, a county park, is in Saguaro NP and about and hour and a half from Tombsotne.
