Thanks for the recommendations. I like the closeness of Tropical Palms but am concerned that it might be a little to commercial and retirement like. I really like the looks of Lake Louisa (and love state parks) but am concerned about the distance.
We have stayed at tropical palms 3 times and we are a young family. Kids are 7 and 10. They enjoyed the campground, had a great time at the pool and we all played the mini golf course. The closer the better to any Disney park . You are there to enjoy the parks, we all do enough driving to get there. - TPUCExplorerI did not find it a big deal driving between Universal and Lake Louisa

I live near Lake Louisa. It is definitely a fairly long drive to Universal. Tropical Palms would not only put you closer to Universal, but also near Old Town, the free areas of Disney (Downtown Disney, Boardwalk, etc), Sea World, etc. - CrawfordvilleExplorerThanks for the recommendations. - noe-placeExplorerWe stay at Tropical Palms too.
- HappyKayakersExplorerMaybe the recommendations would be better if the OP told us what they're interested in besides Universal?

- MobileBassetExplorerOne of the best kept RV secrets in the area is Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake. It is a City of Orlando Park and is just a couple miles from Universal which is in Orlando, not Kissimmee. Lake Louisa is about 45 minutes away from Univeral.
- alnal326ExplorerBill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake is a city park in Orlando about 10 minutes from Universal. We stayed there this summer and visited Universal. It's a small campground within the city park and the park is gated and locked at night, they give you the code when you check in to open the gate when you come home in the evening. It was $23 a night with sewer and $19 a night without but they only have a few sewer sites and if you decide to stay there I would call early. It's not much on thrills no cable but plenty of over the air television channels which didn't really matter since we weren't in the park very much anyway.
- rvtenExplorerThere are a lot of private parks close by.
Tropical Palms is very nice and close.
Your only going to be there a few days. SO a park with a lot of extras is a waste of $$ as you will be spending most of your time at Universal and exploring.
Do a Goggle search for RV PKs in Kissimmee.
