Vehicle Length vs Driveway length and GSMNP

Booking site at Elkmont in GSMNP. Is vehicle length the TT or tow vehicle limit. Our TT is close to 23 and truck is around 20. If a site has 21 ft. vehicle length and a 40 ft. Driveway, should I be able to fit?
  • This is a guess as we have never stayed there but will be staying at cades cove in a couple months, but I think driveway length is the total length. But that is just a guess.

Don't forget, that as long as your camper is not too low to the ground and there are no obstacles behind your site preventing it, that you can push back till your tires reach the edge or curbing. Our site at cades cove says 43' driveway with max vehicle length of 34'. We have about 10' overhang behind rear wheels. I'm hoping we can park further back giving a little more room in the front of the mh. If not, we still will be ok.
  • Well, the site is G01 and it actually says driveway 38 ft. G14 and G12 are our favorites (even with the road across the river). Some others, J's on the River and a few of the F's are very nice but have never stayed on those. This is October so not much choices left. Had made this res back in May and just didn't pay attention. Normally, with overhang, my small camper fits in some small spots but just not sure about this one. I've seen the site, but only with a pop-up and a VW camper. While not actually on the river, it has easy access and a nice trail to the bridge. I've seen pop-ups on G7,8,9 and those all say 15 ft. vehicle.

Have you made reservations yet. What is your assigned site number.

If you know this you can go to the web site and get alot of info on the particular site including at least four photos of it.

I like site F008 and try to get it when we go...

Most sites (I think all maybe) are back in sites...

Site management are super folks give them a call...

The site road has a few low overhang rocks around a few of the curves especially coming in from the Townsend side. Take care going around those...
