About to finally buy a TT & want to stay at an oceanfront campground within 6 hours of Asheville, NC where we live. We considered outer banks but 9 hours is far for us! Edisto Island has no vacancie...

Nope, believe he was just talking about trying to get reservations on the beach this late in the season.
Unfortunately, the bug spray doesn't work very well against our SC no-see-ems and the mosquitos down at Hunting Island have their own Air Traffic Controller since they are so big.
Muggy doesn't exactly describe the conditions here in August. We use that term this time of year, August becomes something a good bit worse.
But don't worry, you will have lots of fun and relaxation down at Hunting Island in August. Been a time or two and never regretted the trips.
