- kohldadExplorer IIIYou should be fine by backing the truck in next to the camper. If you have a curb side slide on the front of the FW, you may have a problem.
Remember you will need to keep the tires on the pavement but you can let the rear of the trailer hang over the back of the site unless you have trees blocking the way. If you can get a site on the top of the hill in the back, you should have plenty of room.
I've stayed there with a 30' TT towed by a 22' vehicle, a 35' FW towed by a 20' vehicle and my father was there with a 37' FW towed by a 20' tow vehicle. Never had a problem, but then again I go out of season so do have a couple of sites to choose from. - mikeh449Explorerwe stayed at fishing bridge last year full hook ups had a 32 ft tt no problem at all plenty of room
- kedanieExplorer IIYour length should be just fine unless you plan to keep your TV hooked up. Unhooked, you are within their restrictions. The truck can be parked on the side or somewhere else nearby.
Don't make a big deal out of it. You can always call them to make sure.
Keith - loulou57ExplorerWhy dont you call them as soon as possible. Tell them your situation and they will give you the correct answer. A few $ for a phone call could end up being a very inexpensive solution.
- kknowltonExplorer IIMcGuirehg: If you find that they won't let you keep the reservation at Bridge Bay, check on Fishing Bridge RV Park, or Grizzly RV in West Yellowstone. We've usually camped at the latter (since we like having hookups) and it's worked out fine. Good luck! (Oh, and note you should post the same topic only once here on the forum.)
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIINope too long for the site and they won't let you in.......
- TucsonJimExplorer IIWelcome to the forum. Since you're a "newbie", I decided to do a little investigating for you.
First of off, the campground doesn't necessarily restrict overall length to 40 feet. The website says the following, "Campground sites that will accommodate a maximum combined length of 40-feet or more are limited."
When you made your reservation, did you notify them of the length of your rig?
The website states, "Please keep in mind that most campsites in Yellowstone will not accommodate oversize units. If you arrive at the campground/RV park with equipment different than that for which you have reserved, we will not be able to accommodate you."
So, bottom line, it looks like you may be okay if you let them know up front how long your rig is.
