Yosemite Mariposa Grove Parking

I just noticed on the nps website, that the new parking area for the Mariposa Grove in Yosemite, is for vehicles 20' and under. There is a commercial bus parking area (by permit only), but no other mention of parking for RVs. Has anyone taken their RV to the area and been able to park nearby? (I've sent a message to Yosemite contact e mail but haven't heard back yet)
  • Just heard back from one of the rangers. There are 16 RV spots, including 8 that will accomodate rvs up to 40'.
  • Senior pass is always on display when on federal lands, Capt.
  • If you park your truck in that area, you will receive a citation ... not the good kind.

Also keep in mind if you you have not paid the required entry fee and stop in a national park for any reason, to view the scenery or use the rest room, while traveling through to access private property, you will also receive a citation.
  • Just another step on the "road" to banning all private vehicles from entering Yosemite. For instance unless you are camping no private vehicles are allowed during the day at Devils Postpile beyond the area around Minaret Summit.
