Yosemite NP -- Water Falls --- Dry up

I know this varies year by year but when does the major water falls dry up at Yosemite NP? I have been in the early fall and the major falls were dry. We are planing a trip but will not be able to get there until late June or early July. Is there a web site that list the dates each year?
  • you can watch it ************** anytime you want, to answer your question you have to watch the snow/rain fall in the high country and have flexible plains, it can be dry one day and a good flow 2 days later, but if it is flowing good you will have a couple weeks to get things in order to go, we got lucky this spring and it was flowing very nice, 1 month later nothing at all.

as mentioned they have had a good amount of snow in the high countru above the falls so it should last a while this spring.

click the falls photo and click streaming.

Yea, the NP service has a webcam for it but last Aug-Sept it was down for maintenance and there was a beautiful picture of the falls instead. Truth in advertising... NOT
  • Even in a normal precipitation year most of the falls keep flowing well into July. This year most of them should be going well into August or longer depending on how hot summer is. No website for waterfalls although they do have webcams for Yosemite that includes one of Yosemite falls.
  • God willing the falls will continue all of 2017. Snowpack looks good at this point.
  • Depends on winter snowfall to a great extent and this season so far is turning into a record snowfall, 20 feet in one month so far. Supposedly with more storms on the way. So if it keeps up the falls may last longer this summer.

I didn't see a real time falls flow page but here is a proxy: Real time merced river flow

The Merced of course is the river in the valley that is supplied by the falls. No falls no river would be my supposition.
