- Mr_BojanglesExplorerWell how did you make out???????
- Mr_BojanglesExplorerHey....
Thinking "not to many people camp on Christmas Eve....."
Worry (think about) the weather, Chains, (plan on snow), road into Yosemite (one of them closes for winter).
Once at Yosemite, in an emergency you could Dry dock in parking area's, overnight but you would have to keep your presence in RV unit subdued. They (park security) will ask you to leave if you are in unit, and not parked to stay in Lodges.
If your full of adventurism, I would just go there.
And the very best thing would be to Inquire (as already suggested) and make reservations ON LINE!
Good luck and be sure to report back on the results (ability to make reservations) and the time you had in Park!

Especially at this time of the year. - 2gypsies1Explorer IIIOnce a campground is closed they probably won't re-open it so don't rely on that.
- Not that many spots for 35'.
I would call and ask if the online reservations are on hold.
There are no bad spots but you need 35'. - Fresno_Tundra_DExplorerYou should be able to get a spot in Upper Pines. Bring tire chains.
- tpiExplorerLooks like they're all on first come first served basis in Dec. I'd assume they'd open other campgrounds if the demand is there but that's got me in trouble before..
- agesilausExplorer IIIMaybe since it's winter. Get there early so that you can find a place outside the park if there aren't any inside. You might check recreation.gov and see if there are any open sites.
