Calling this an attic fan because thats what it reminds me of. Its just a 12v computer fan blowing out the roof vent.
The vent is fully closed with the lever snugged tight. There is still enough slop for it to evacuate air. Might make another foam cutout to accept a larger fan. Will crack the vent open as needed.
For people who store at gated facilities you could probably run this off a super small portable solar panel sitting on the roof. Route the wires down the small crack in the vent. Might keep interior temps from getting too crazy if you live in warm climate.
This fan is an 80mm Noctua. It pulls around 0.05a on high and 0.03a using the noise reduction connector.
I plan to leave it running 24/7 this summer. Ive had it installed 3 days now. The first 2 days it was hot and my trailer didnt go above 80F. Which i feel is an improvement. Usually on hot days the trailer is miserable compared to the outside air.
Im really happy with the potential of this thing. Not sure if the 80mm size will be sufficient. Its nice to evacuate stale air as well since i full time in here. I have to keep windows closed because its on dirt roads and my trailer gets blasted with a cloud of dust every time someone drives by.
I have a separate intake tube connected to an auto filter. That is where i can blow in fresh filtered air. Without that i guess air will enter at the window cracks and gaps in the door. The first 2 days of testing i didnt use my intake blower.
The fan was $18 on amazon a year ago. The foam i already had. Its 1" foam board. Installed that stuff on my windows. People warned me last year to put reflective side to the interior. Ive yet to take that to heart. Big mistake or small mistake?
