Air Dream Mattresses

I've been reading how many people have been using the Air Dream mattresses.

How durable are they?
Are they comfortable if you are on the road for over a month?
Any negatives?

Guess I was worried that, like many air mattresses, that it would seep out and I would find I am sleeping atop coils...ouch!

  • We have been using a Air Dream for 8 years. It not just an air mattresse, has springs in combined setup. Foam mattress are too warm and overpriced for the results, even the cool top ones. I don't like being cupped in a foam pocket.
  • Personally I wouldn't think about using any air mattresses no matter how expensive or supposedly "good" they might be.

From the few times I have attempted to sleep on "Coleman" camping ones sleep was non existent. Temperature and even elevation about sea level will change the "firmness" of said mattress. You can start out with it full at night and wake up in the morning with your body touching the boards under the mattress.

My suggestion if your REALLY want a good nights sleep is to get a good quality FOAM mattress made with a top layer of memory foam. Price is probably less than than the premium name brand air mattresses and you will never suffer waking up with your body hugging the board under the mattress.
  • Ours developed a leak after about 5 years. We replaced it. It's the best option for a sleeper sofa but I wouldn't buy one for the regular bed.
