attaching a shower curtain to the outside shower?

Hi all. I love to use the outside shower but prefer not to have a bathing suit on when I use it, if you catch my drift. How to attach a shower rod to the side of the RV which won't impede driving? I saw the extend-a-rod at Camping World, and it looks good, except it's folding mechanism doesn't fold flat, but inwards, which obviously won't work for the side of the RV. Has anyone found a way to attach a similarly shaped shower rod which will fold UP for usage, and DOWN for travel? Thanks.

When we are at the beach, we use ours all the time. Not really to SHOWER, but to get in, take our suit off, wash the sand off and out of "those" areas before we go into the 5'er. I have a robe hanging right at the entrance to the 5'er that I will slip into to go around to the front door.

The kids get in, I spray the sand out of the crevices and off their suits, hand them a robe and around they go. I have a plastic COKE crate that we stand on to keep our feet from getting muddy.

At least half of all the campers there have a somewhat similar setup and no one complains when we use it - it's the same as the outdoor showers they have at the bath houses, except mine has a crate. Theirs just has muddy sand to stand on and collect the water.

Wait for darkness, nothing else needed then.

I think if I were to use the outside shower I would use my awning over my bedroom window an hang a shower curtain from it. It is right next to the outside shower but would probably need another 6 ft section of hose.

I would think a free standing frame of PVC pipe and a couple of shower curtains could be set up pretty quickly. If you didn't glue it and used pins to hold it together it would come apart for storage. Not sure how the campground would feel about an outside structure.

I like this idea and would be easy to do. I have seen where someone had attached one of the half curved rods with one end to the slide and one to the side of the TT. They were using the corner between the two

In ALL CG's it will be highly frowned upon and actually illegal to have gray water running everywhere. It has to be at a minimum 200 feet from any water source.
How are you going to collect it? You weren't just going to let it run off were you?;)

Don't forget a platform to stand on if you do this. Otherwise your going to have muddy feet.

About the only time I have ever used my outside shower connection was to clean up sometime leaning up against a tree or squirt a squirrel to see if it is working....

For me seemed like a big waste rigging up something to catch my grey water and then being concerned with the privacy thing just sort of makes it better for me to go the bath house or shower inside my own trailer.

Back in the Jeep Trail days someone usually came up with a portable shower setup and it was always just one big party thing of all the redneck jeep guys whooping it up while a pretty girl is taking a shower - Not my cup of tea...

I would never run around a camp site with nothing on but a towel and a smile. Too many young kids around for me...

Too me the outside shower hookup is a big waste...

Just my thoughts of course...

I had all of this stuff at the house so it was free. The curtains did not match.

Great idea!

On my old hauler, I used the hula hoop as well. I attached it to shelving brackets which fit into two tracks attached to the outside wall of the trailer.

Use a shower tent with a nice wooden platform and conventional shower plumbed through the hot and cold water low point drains. Worked fine for the past three years.

We actually saw a set up this summer that looked rather good. They had made a 3 panel folding screen. Panels were held together with piano hinges and the panels themselves were printed plastic( you can buy it by the yard) or use shower curtains. I would think it could be stored under a bed for travelling.

If there is people around that can see, it's just not cool to wash outside, and if we use ours in places we feel we are truly alone, we might put up a tarp or just a rope with a towel or two to protect us from the totally unexpected.
