awning cover out of sewer pipe

looking to make a cover for my awning, anyone done this and if so wha size ID pipe did you use.
Retired and lovin it!!

I use 4 or 5 inch galvanized duct work for heating. I dulled the edges so it doesn't cut the awning. It stays in place while parked between outings. It's light weight and not expensive.

I agree,I would NEVER try it.


I would disagree, I would sand the cut edges and take the rig on a 70 mph run late at night. I don't think the wind can get enough force under it to peel it off.

If I did something I would not want to need to remove for travel! It would take too much to get going!

Is it so important for it to stay on while traveling, that you are willing to risk loss of this item and safety of others on the road? If it flies off and hits somebody, are you going to tell them to sue Youtube?

Make it 2-piece and take it down for travel.

Also, check aluminum gutters - they are of different shape, might fit your particular setup better than vinyl.

Look on YouTube I think based on what the video it may be able to stay on while traveling and opening. Total 360 degree protection.
