Awning on Slideout

My passenger-side awning on my '06 39 Discovery will have to be replaced. Currently, the awning extends over the slideout, and is almost horizontal. I cannot adjust it to get a slant. Instead of repairing the current awning, I am considering having an awning installed on the slideout itself rather than above it. Has anyone done this or had it done?

I like the idea of the awning on the slide out. We do not have a slide on that side of the 5er but a awning there would give us more covered area out of the sun and rain and keep the sun out of the kitchen. ๐Ÿ™‚ Will have to look for a awning to fit there.

I have a 12' awning on mine and it works great! It gives me a lot of flexibility when outside entertaining also when the sun rises or sets on that side of our fiver I'm able block out the sunshine which really helps to keep the interior cool plus it cuts down on the sun's UV aging the interior cabinetry and furniture, I think it's the way to go!
