Charger converter upgrade questions ?????

Hi! I currently have a 32 AMP magnetek charger converter in my rv and would like to upgrade it as well as my batteries to the trojan t-105's.
I was looking at an Iota charger thats 45 amp.
My question is can i install a 45 amp even though the current one is only 32 amp? And when i update the converter to 45 amp, will i have to update the fuses to higher amps or do the fuses in the fuse box by the converter remain as is?

I am in the slow process of converting my trailer to the marine way of doing things.

Out went the cheap & nasty converter/charger. In went a not cheap 2000W PURE sine wave inverter/charger. Out went the wet cell 12V batterys. In went a single 4D AGM battery which after 8 years is still going strong & needs absolutely no maintenance.

At some point the 12V fuse panel will get replaced with a 12V circuit breaker panel.

Do you expect a fast charge on generator power? If so you probably need to pull wire to reduce resistance. I recommend #4 marine grade wire.

No generator? the 30 amp IOTA or 35 amp PD will work just fine plugged in. Actually even with a generator these would charge like a rocket compared to the existing Magnetek.

When I upgraded my Magnatek to Progressive Dynamic 45 amp I also upgraded the wiring from the converter to the batteries - that was primarily to facilitate faster charging not a safety concern.

I installed an IOTA-55 stand-alone deck-mount converter in my pass-through. It's a short run to the 2 G29 batteries and I have the original WFCO converter disconnected but still use it as the main DC distribution panel.
If you keep the current converter but disconnect the charging section you don't need to change any fuses.

Agree with Sidecar. I changed my Magnetek 6332 **** for a PD4635 and am happy. I got it from Best Converter. Randy is their expert. Here's a thread I posed similar questions before the purchase:

Chargers should be around 10% to 20% of the capacity of the battery bank.
And to get full advantage of upgrade put it as close to the battery with proper wire size.
The iota 55 amp and under needs a 15 breaker, shiuld be same. Just leave existing converter where it is unpowered.
That what I did, I have the Iota 55 for 430a/h battery bank. And I made it so it can be plugged directly to my honda 2000w.
