Coat hooks

Would like to mount some coat hooks or a wood strip with some hooks on the wall just inside the entry door. What would be the best way to attach them to the wall? Not sure if wood screws would hold, seems like the walls are only about 1/8th inch thick.

I hung coat hooks in our trailer. The center walls in ours have 1"x1" wooden studs and the outer use metal studs. I used a wooden strip, painted to match, that spanned several studs to anchor them in. Then I attached the coat hooks to that. Works great... Even installed some eye-bolts down low to secure stuff during transport the same way.

Cowboy Command coat hook:

Around the entry area are usually a number of studs that can be used to support anything you wish to fasten onto the wall.

Main tip is clean the area of application well before applying the "Command" strip. If you do that, let it sit for a hour or two before you hang anything on it, it will stay in place for a long time. I have some of the larger ones hung on each side of the walk around bed and we hang mesh bags we use for dirty clothes on them. For a week long camping trip, they can get pretty heavy, maybe 25-30 lbs. They have held up for almost 18 months now, through the heat of the summer without problems.

Also love the Velcro command strips. Use them for normal 8x10 wood picture frames on the walls. One strip in each corner and they have not moved . I used to double check them each trip before and after arriving and not so much as being a little loose. Don't even bother checking them any more. Makes it nice for hanging pics from out different adventures.

One of the "Command" do-dads is a "paper hanger".

It is perfect for hanging papers on the aluminum fridge door.

I've used the command strips in the TT to attach paper towel holder, toilet paper holder, coat hooks, key ring hooks and small wall decorations. My kids use them to hang everything in their rooms, also.

I have seen the 3M command strips used alot in the trailers.

I have also seen the other method used by mounting the nice made up coat rack holders with a top shelf and holding them in place with the MOLY BOLTS where it looks something like this google image...

These looked pretty nice to meet the different decor of the trailers...

This is what a MOLLY BOLT looks likes and spreads out behind the thin walls giving alot of support for heavy items...

Different things for different folks I guess...

We added a couple to our shower also for hanging wet raincoats and towels. Works great!

Get the 3M command strips with metal hooks. The plastic hook ones break after 2 or 3 years.

For the TC, We found a strip of hooks on a nice wire frame in the GARDEN section. Don't remember what store... Home Depot or Wal-Mart most likely. Hubby cut the strips to fit so there were three or four or more double hooks in a strip. He could even bend the strips around corners.

(I'm thinking... explore hardware and garden hooks. Never know what you might find. Maybe you can use the command hooks to hold these up and you'd have several hooks instead of just the one.)

Menard's, Home Depot, etc. carry the "Command Strips".

Yep, command hooks work for us, too. We each have one for a coat, and I hang my purse on one. We have them for keys. We have a small basket hung with command hooks that holds the dog leash, poop bags and a small flashlight (for when we take the pooch out at night). We have them in the bedroom for clothes, and in the bath for towels. In the kitchen for the oven mitts.

Good advice. We hang coats, hats, dog leashes, and extra kitchen sinks on ours.
Seriously, they are great. Ours have been up for years.
Get the heavy duty ones.
