Another thing you might want to do is position a shiny piece of stainless steel on bottom of oven. While pressing igniter look downe to see when pilot lights.

When I posted about changing my igniter to an electronic one, I thought maybe it would highjack the original post, I'm feeling better about it now that there is so much newer up dated info from all involved. Roy I'm glad my idea helped you and sorry about the two extra holes.

DW and I agreed a few months ago that all projects for the MoHo and all new ones for the S&B would be put on hold until the new window coverings were in place and the new entry doors were installed. It seems that we were having to much fun personalizing the Winnie that we weren't finishing the S&B refurbishing.

I started a box of parts and the ideas we had for the Winnie, stupid idea. Now I look at that box and want to do that instead of finishing the house. At least I've got the parts but now I'll have another one after visiting whoever has the igniter I want.

Warning to all, do as our KIWI friends, move every four or five years and that way you always have a new home and not the long list of repairs, replacements and improvements we had after 40 years in the same home and traveling instead of maintaining.

I'm about to do the same mod. What type of line did you use for the oven pilot or did you use the one that came with the ingnitor

Installed in about 20 minutes and works great! I'm on a camping trip so for now I have the igniters simply wire tied to the burner supports. When I get home I'll use steel hose clamps.

Now I have to make a panel to cover the extra holes...


The wire ties are holding up well. It doesn't get very warm where they are...

HATED IT!....You guys were right. I hated the goofy push button igniters. Too much noise early in the AM and out of six I bought, 4 were defective immediately or after only pushing the button 5 or 6 times....Junk!

I used a three circuit battery ignitor (1 AA) from fleabay and simply tapped into the wires that go to each existing sparker. Works great and super easy install.
