I keep my genny in the rear seat area of my cab when traveling and place it next to the rear tire on the side where the power cord comes out of the camper. I cable lock it to the rear wheel spokes.
No, the cable lock will not stop a true thief, but will keep the opportunistic amateur from just walking off with it. I sorta hide it by placing a cardboard box over it when not running and a few sticks of fire wood on top of the box to both hold it down and make it look like it's just firewood, not worth the risk of getting caught taking.
