Macerator Pump - Perm or Portable

I made a portable unit from a garbage disposer. Works much better than the FloJet, which I purchased before hand.

I like my Flojet Portable. :)

I have a Flojet Portable, which has not been taken off since I bought my motor home. I have it hard wired directly to the batteries and then I put a switch in the bay where the floret is, plus I added another switch in the bedroom. So, if we are at a campground with full hookups, I have the garden hose with an adapter placed in the sewer drain. If the grey tank is getting full as the family is taking showers, I can just switch on the Flojet from the bedroom and empty the grey tank. I have never used the 3 inch slinky. Not once. I attached the Flojet and for nearly 10 years, I have used nothing buy the macerator. I also have a drain I installed in my garage and run the hose in there and drain the tanks while I am home. It works great!

is your mount in a basement compartment? you could leave the portable hooked up but it will place a lot of strain on the fittings.

I have the permanent sanicon and the way it is located I will always have some waste between the 3" valve gate and the unit. The unit reduces the 3" inlet hose down to 1.5" but is centered so the 3" line between the valve and the unit will always have something in it. It it were to fail or I wanted to switch back to the slinky, I will have to deal with it. If you have room, I'd opt for the portable.

Flojet portable here also, works great.

I think i paid $215 ish at Dyers RV online for my flojet . free shipping.

I have the FloJet portable and have used it many times over the last five years or so. But, I do not want it mounted as I only use it on very unique occasions. It takes only a few minutes to hook up and I have a carry bag for it that stores near my plumbing controls.
