I do not believe you need to upgrade to disc brakes just because you are upgrading your suspension.
Sure it would be nice to upgrade to disc, but the reality is they are 2 different systems.
It is still worthwhile to upgrade brakes or suspension without upgrading both.
If there was a choice to be made , it would be disc brakes long before the upgraded suspension .,
