So our Queen bed is in our rear slide. No night stands on either side. Nowhere for DW to put bottle of water, reading glasses or wine glass. DW's side of the bed was right next to her wardrobe. So...

yep....now that would be perfect. I'd looked at rigging something up to run a cord under the bed then plug it into the outlet on the back wall there under the window but I'm liking your idea better. Wonder what would be involved in running wires from that closet to the light fixture above the bed. I may pull that fixture and look at it.
