Philips 18W LED bulbs not for enclosed fixtures

Just bought and installed some of these bulbs. Of course my wife reads on the package after the install that they are not for enclosed fixtures. I save the packages and will return them. Thought I ...

I left these bulbs in the fixture, they seem ok. For me it was just to see if there was that much difference with the brightness. Until I start doing more boondocking I don't see a lot of benefit for the cost. They are definitely running cooler.
