remove/replace big reefer

I've toyed with the idea of a larger class A, but used, and doing upgrades myself.

What occurs to me is that the only door is a bit small. So, if one were to change out an older 4-door reefer, how could it be done thru that small door.

Or, is it necessary to remove a wall or slide...something drastic?
  • Our Dometic came out through the window and the RF197 went in the same way.
  • In my Class C my Norcold N621 has to come out through the (removed) dinette window as the coach door is too narrow.
  • A counter depth unit with the doors removed would probably fit through a lot of RV doors.

Removed the side window myself. NOcold coming out.

21 cuft going in. DW and I did it ourselves.
  • I helped a friend take out the old and bring in the new via the windshield. He had a glass company show up and remove the glass. Someone had a fork lift and the job was quick and easy. The old fridge was already out so the process to about 20 minutes and the glass company was putting the glass back in place.
  • I helped a neighbor remove and replace his RV fridge with a samsung. Had to remove the door from the new one, the passenger seat.
  • many will go thru the entry door
once you remove the fridge doors and any obstacles like seats etc..

sometimes, people go thru one of the windows,
removing the window frame and everything
bring the old out and the new in, laying flat
    then replace window
    depends on the particular RV
