Removing tub

I am contemplating removing the tiny tub in my Jayco Kiwi. We never have and don't plan on showering in TT. My thought, just unscrewing from wall/floor, cutting plywood to fill in any openings where tub sits. Main question, do I have to do anything with the drainage line or just covering it with plywood good? Or do you think this will be more of a headache for a couple extra feet?
  • The TT is a 2000, I don't plan on selling until the tires and walls fall off (my old '00 Siverado had over 400,000 miles when hubby said it was time, I cried). Twins are only in Jr. High and I work FT we are only able to camp on weekends, so I don't mind campground facilities. Since twins are boy and girl, I thought removing tub would give more private changing room, esp for girl didn't think of any foul smell.....tub will stay.
Thanks for all input! BTW my old pops enjoys me asking all you my questions instead of him lol
  • a bad idea IMHO. I looked at buying a used B van that the owner had fashioned a plywood cover over the "tub" , carpeted it, and was able to utilize that area.
    bumpy
  • If you remove the tub you will need to cap off the drain before covering the hole. Once the of trap dries out you will get some wonderful odors coming from the grey tank. I personally would not take out the tub but we use our shower. Good luck.
