Replaced the Airconditioner with a MaxxFan Deluxe Vent

Iโ€™m sure there are plenty of people out there that will question my sanity at removing the air-conditioner from The Van, and they may have a point, but I have my reasons none-the-less.

For one thing, most of my camping is done in places without shore-power, and without shore-power the AC unit doesnโ€™t work very well as anything other than a 100 pound chunk of metal sitting high up on top of the roof. In fact itโ€™s been close to three years since that AC unit has done anything other than mess with The Vanโ€™s handling. Something any high profile vehicle can do without!

For another, Iโ€™ve already got a hole in the roof that I'm sure I could make much better use of than simply plugging it with an unused appliance. - - - OK, so that's pretty much just a different way of wording my first point, but that just goes to show how strongly I feel about it.

If you have a window by the bed you might achieve sufficient comfort by opening that window and running the fan on exhaust with all other windows closed.

I installed aa MaxxFan in my popup slide in camper and love it. Never had a RV with AC and like you camp of grid a lot and couldn't use AC anyway. We are now looking for a Class B and AC is not high on the required list.

Depends on where you camp, I suspose. Was there enough roof space to add the fan while keeping the AC?

Seeing as they BOTH use the same 14" X 14" roof opening it is a pretty easy swap
Just need 12V DC for fan which can be supplied by inside roof courtesy light
